After upgrading to 4.1.1 from 4.0.X, I have "lost" fonts in LibreOffice.

Specifically, documents which previously used "Myriad Pro Cond" and "Helvetica Neue Condensed" no longer display those fonts, and in the font name window, the font name is italicized and the help pop up says "the font is not available and will be substituted".

Oddly, reverting to 4.0.3.3 returns Myriad Pro Cond" but not Helvetica Neue Condensed.

would you please upload a test file with that font so we can check?
did you try upgrading to 4.1.2.3?

This would appear to be a duplicate of bug 67749.

I'm confused.

In Word I have Myriad Pro Cond (helvetica neue condensed is not on my OS X 10.9 systme).

I created a test document with that font and saved as docx file (attached).

If I open
LO Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: b578d23d3131f30d775e07baa6fa26e247ea999d
TinderBox: MacOSX-x86@49-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2013-12-13_00:32:50

and look for "myriad pro cond" in the fonts section I only see "myriad pro". If I then open the test docx file I see the font myriad pro cond.

Maybe this is expected but it looks fishy to me. Setting to NEW. Any dev input on this?

This behaviour is normal. The initial pull-down font name list shows the available fonts (i.e., no condensed version is available). Once the document is loaded and the cursor placed on the text the name of the used font will display i.e., the condensed version. Usually if the used font is unavailable it will be set in italics in the font name field and font substitution occurs in the document.

I still feel this may be a weights-related MacOS issue introduced in v4.1 as I indicate in bug 67749.

Closing in favour of bug 67749, due to attachment 90788 [details] and the other bugs, which have been closed as duplicates of this report. All seem to be the same issue i.e., not all font weights shipped with MacOS are available. As Alex indicates in the parent report, it likely relates back to Core Text changes introduced in v4.1.
