Description:
As of version 5.1.6.2 on Linux Mint 18, LO Writer no longer remembers the last cursor position when saving. On re-opening a document, the cursor is always at the beginning of the document.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a Writer document and place the cursor anywhere but at the beginning.
2. Save and close the document.
3. Re-open the document.

Actual Results:  
The cursor is at the very beginning of the document.

Expected Results:
The cursor should be where it was when the document was saved.


Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes, didn't solve the issue.

Hi Daniel,

If you didn't still done it,
Fill first your User data in
Tools > Options > LibreOffice
and this will work.

Hi Jacques,
entering my name in Tools > Options > LibreOffice did solve the issue indeed. It's still a strange kind of behaviour, as one wouldn't expect the two things to depend on each other. However, it works now, so you may as well set my request to Resolved.

Can you try Shift+F5?
This shortcut is set in Tools > Customize > Keyboard for: Restore Editing View.

Hi Jacques,

Yes, that works as well. I've cleared my entries in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > User Data to restore the old (faulty) behaviour. When I press Shift+F5 now after opening a document, the cursor jumps to its correct position in the document.
